Besides conquering the Miss India Earth 2013 title, Sobhita Dhulipala initially proved her mettle by conquering the state pageant, Miss India Bangalore 2013. For Gorgeous and optimistic Sobhita , winning the Miss India crown is a reflection of her dreams and now her next step is to make India proud by proving her mettle at the International platform.

Excerpts:

How do you feel after winning the crown?
Honestly, I was dazed and awestruck all through the crowning! The victory still hasn't sunk in completely. I woke up this morning in a state of absolute euphoria! My reality is now a reflection of my dreams. Life just cannot get better!

Does the crown make any difference?
It absolutely does. It is a representation of hope and that if you follow your dreams with passion, dedication and courage, nothing can stop you, It made me realize where I'm truly destined to belong to and makes me feel empowered in every positive way. I'm smiling the widest of my smiles!

What difference you want to make to the society, now that you have the crown and power in your hand?
The crown on my head is for the world to see and identify me as a beauty queen. But what lies beneath the makeup and behind the smile is a strong force within me to make a real and substantial change. A responsibility not just for myself but for as many people's lives that I can touch.

If not you, who else do you think deserved the crown?
In all honesty, I did not think of the result at all. I promised to myself that I would deliver to the best of my abilities and I did so. That's what matters to me the most. Besides, all the girls were so lovely and fantastic that winning over the other wasn't the idea. It was to be the best version of ourselves and live the moment!

Is Bollywood the inevitable next step?
Life is one colourful roller coaster. What awaits me tomorrow, only time can tell!

What's next in pipeline?
As of now, I'm very driven by the success and tremendous support I've received. I'm thoroughly charged to bring back the next international title for India's much deserved beauty, wit and intellect. Apart from that, what's going to happen next? Well, I'll leave it to destiny..it might just take you and me by surprise!

A REJUVENATING EXPERIENCE

When Sanjana D'souza, a finalist of the Pond's Femina Miss India 2013 contest, won the Westin Femina Miss Congeniality crown, she got a chance to experience The Heavenly Spa at The Westin Mumbai Garden City. From an array of offerings, she opted for a signature treatment — The Heavenly Massage, a 90-minute ritual that relaxes, rejuvenates and energises. The massage uses a heated herbal compress to relax muscles with Indian therapeutic oils, which are massaged into the body. A multi-sensory experience in relaxation is created through a harmonious balance of scent, touch and warm herbs. Extra attention is given to the back and upper shoulders with a combination of Indian oils and western techniques. Put simply, the massage is a warm oil therapy with a warm compression.

Speaking about her spa experience, Sanjana said, "I am excited to have won the crown. The heavenly spa at the hotel was rejuvenating and energising. The massage is a perfect stress buster for our hectic lives."

After the spa ritual, a warm Dhanwantharam oil is gently poured on the back and followed with warm compression of the herbal potli (which is filled with Indian herbs like Ashwagandha, turmeric, cinnamon, etc.). This helps reduce stress between tissues and muscles. The therapy adopts the Swedish massage technique, which helps relax the body and mind completely. In today's busy schedule it becomes difficult to maintain a balance between work and play. Stress, pressure and demands are common problems. At the Heavenly Spa, an array of therapies are offered to uplift guests mentally, physically and spiritually by engaging and stimulating each of the five senses — sight, sound, touch, taste and scent through a holistic approach to wellness. The concept and philosophy of the spa is to provide a sensorial experience in a serene environment designed to inspire and renew the spirit of guests

WOMEN WHO'VE INSPIRED MISS INDIAS

Miss India 2013 has found its three proud winners in Navneet Kaur Dhillon, Shobhita Dhulipala and Zoya Afroz who would now take on the International challenge respectively. Fifty years have passed since Femina Miss India crowned its first winner and as we look back on some of the glorious moments in the history of Miss India, we ask our present winners about their favourite Miss Indias who have inspired them in their own Miss India journey.

Aishwarya Rai is my inspiration: Zoya Afroz
After clinching the Miss Indore 2013 title, Zoya Afroz braved all obstacles to become the next beauty queen. Zoya is not new to the world of glamour; in fact, she has featured in a number of Bollywood films and was first noticed by Rajshri Productions that signed her to play Neelam's daughter in 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1999. Later, she was seen sharing screen space with Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan in the movie 'Kuch Na Kaho' in 2000. It was quite early in her career that Zoya decided to match footsteps with the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, "My journey began when I was 3-years-old and my mother put me in the film industry. I have been a child artist and have worked in a number of Hindi movies and TV commercials which I've absolutely loved doing. I have adored all Miss India pageant winners ever since childhood and wanted to grow up into one someday. Looking at the pictures of Aishwarya Rai adorning the Miss World crown, I too decided to be a Miss India and make my country proud. I still remember the time when I was shooting with her for "Kuch Na Kaho" and I asked her what I should do to become a beauty queen like her, and in reply she just told me to excel in my studies and rest will follow. She made me learn how beauty alone is not enough and it is intelligence that shapes a winning attitude. I would therefore say that Aishwarya Rai is my inspiration behind my dream of being a Miss India," says Miss India International 2013, Zoya Afroz. With a crown on her head now, Zoya is all set to script a brand new chapter in Bollywood.

Zeenat Aman is an icon: Shobhita Dhulipala
All of 20, Shobhita's confidence and charm impressed all at the recently held Femina Miss India 2013 beauty pageant. When actress Asin Thottumkal posed a question on how justified is the state government to impose a dress code on women, it seemed as if Shobhita already had a winning answer ready. "Deficiency in moral policing cannot compensate for the insensible laws enforced on women," asserted Shobhita and she was delighted to receive a convincing nod from all judges. It is probably the sensibility of breaking gender stereotypes that makes Shobhita look upto the Miss India 1970 winner Zeenat Aman, an actress who challenged the conservative representation of women in cinema and introduced the sultry and bold side to her on the silver screen in films like 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' in the 1970-80s. "I admire Zeenat Aman and Madhu Sapre for the way they conduct themselves. They are strong, sassy, bold and beautiful. They've been iconic in breaking away from stereotypes and such women fascinate me," says Shobhita.

Vanya Mishra is stunning: Navneet Kaur Dhillon
Navneet Kaur Dhillon, a 20-year-old media student registered a stunning victory on the finale night of Miss India 2013 as she walked away with the glittering crown amid a starry gathering. She dreams to be an actor but makes it clear that she would only act in films directed by her. Ask her which Miss India inspires her the most and she says, "It has to be Vanya (Mishra)! When I saw Miss World 2012, I found her to be stunning and spectacular. Another Miss India who I find very mesmerizing is the lovely Rochelle Maria Rao. She is an inspiration for many."

The Miss India winners shall soon begin their journey to the international stage where they would be competing against the best in beauty and brains from the world over.
